Looking after your eyes

Michael Offord qualified in 1973, from the University of Wales in Cardiff. Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, he has always lived in the area.

The practice was opened in September 1981, with 1 optometrist and 2 reception staff. Michael Offord is now supported by Deborah Brierley a full time Optometrist, and Emma Langley a part time Optometrist.

Support staff are headed by Claire Yeaman, who is a qualified Dispensing Optician. Reception staff are Jill Dickinson, Hazel Dalton, Valerie Waton. Sandra Turhbull is Dispensing Assistant, and Alex Wilson is trainee Dispensing Optician.

All of our staff regularly attend training courses, and are therefore well qualified to give advice on frames, lenses and contact lenses. We display the Sight Care symbol which means that we are your local independent optician with an agreed national standard of care.

The practice is committed to helping the local community in appreciation of their support.

We sponsor Kingston Park, Gosforth Juniors, Red House Farm, and St John's Church football teams, Gosforth RFC Mini-Junior rugby, Ponteland Juniors Cricket team, along with supporting a variety of local events.

We display the Sight Care symbol which means that we are your local independent optician with an agreed national standard of care.

2010 Michael Offord.
